How is Knowledge Article Assigned a Data Category?

I just completed the Trailhead module/project https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/projects/set-up-salesforce-knowledge and earned a badge too (yay me!!). But I'm still unclear of the exercise of creating the Data Category Group and related activities. How is it assigned and how is it used?

Before submitting this, I saw some questions about adding filters for those categories, but it doesn't explain how that associate is established, or where else can I see which category has how many knowledge articles etc.

Hello Javed,
You should be able to change data category from Knowledge tab. Once you open Knowledge article, you should see Data Categories Component on the right side. There you should be able to edit data categories for that specific knowledge article.

Keiji, thanks for those links. I'll go over them in the morning and am sure that will be helpful too.

Thanks Balaji. Now I see it. I had been going up and down on the details side, thought those are "related" information and not directly part of the article itself. Also, when I switched to Classic view, things show up in much more logical way and I can see all actions and everything in one place.
