Dynamic Actions function enabled on Quote Object but not behaving correctly

I posted this to the Dynamic Actions Community Group but did not get a reply. I understand that the Quote object is not wildly popular but we use it and I have a problem that Dynamic Actions would solve beautifully.

So whilst in my sandbox, I enabled Dynamic Actions on Quote. I then added back all the standard actions, and created my action/solution, which is to not show the Start Sync button until certain criteria is met. Perfect for what I needed to do, and the exact use case I keep reading about for this new feature.

However, these Actions are not showing up at all. All I have is the + Follow button. You can see in the image below that only + Follow shows up, which is the same when saved/activated.

I opened a ticket with Support, but because this is in beta, I was told I needed to talk to my AE, and I have contacted him. I have not heard back yet, but wondered if anyone here has encountered this issue and if you resolved it. Thanks!

UPDATE: I learned from my Salesforce AE that Dynamic Actions is coming in Spring '21 for all standard objects now. So I got myself a Spring '21 dev org, and sure enough, Quote works great! I am also now refreshing one of my sandboxes, the partial sandbox, to see it. Deadline for Spring '21 in Sandbox for admins is yesterday and today, FYI!

Hello Karen,

Hopefully we can figure something out - I've bumped into a similar issue with Dynamic Forms for a custom object when those came out, and ended up figuring it out since support doesn't cover beta features.

As far as Dynamic Actions go, I've recently played with them on the Lead object and it worked without a problem so far - truth be told, I only had standard actions added (such as Convert and Delete) and chose to hide those two when certain criteria on the Record was met.

This being said, would you mind giving this a try with only a couple standard actions and let me know how it behaves? In the meantime, I'll try to do enable them on the Quote in a playground and check it out as well.

Hi Andreea:

I did. I have tried all sorts of things like only adding the Edit action, but you can see if it's going to show up while still in edit mode, which is my image above. I did save it to see if that might not be true, but it is true. No dice. How did you get yours to finally work? And yes, please let me know if you are able to do this on Quote. I do find that Quote is often overlooked for features, and we use it heavily. Thank you!

Indeed, they should pop up while in edit mode, so it's definitely not doing what expected. My issue was with the other feature only available for custom objects still, Dynamic Forms. Dynamic Actions on another hand did work perfectly fine, as I only used them on the Lead object. I've added two highlights pannels below for the Lead, and 4 for the Quote so that I can see exactly what happens in each case.

First the Lead where is works beautifully as expect - Convert and Delete are only supposed to appear when Status = Working - Contacted. The other pannel doesn't have Dynamic Actions enabled.

Now the quote, which sadly presents the same behavior as it does for you. The 2 which have buttons don't have Dynamic Actions enabled. I did delete cache & cookies just in case that would prevent them from showing up.

What I'm inclined to think right now, is that the Quote is not one of the Standard Objects properly supported right now. I did find this page (https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lex_dynamic_actions_desktop_mobile.htm&type=5&release=230), where as highlighted below, only the Lead,Account,Contact, Case and Opportunity are GA now - all others being in beta still, might be possible for these issues to be fixed with the next release.

So unless your AE comes with a magic workaround which you and I have't figured out, I'd say your requirement will have to wait until the other Standard Objects become GA :(

It's so unfortunate. Quote is always left out. I'm sure it's because they want people to buy CPQ. Thank you so much for all the work you did! Salesforce folks didn't do anywhere near this amount of help. Thanks!

Oh, and I too am waiting somewhat impatiently for Dynamic Forms! We have so many fields, it's crazy! Thanks again.

Well maybe but definitely not in this case haha :D I did attempt the same thing in my CPQ Dev edition on the SBQQ Quote as I wasn't really sure which of them you were referring to until now, and it behaves exactly the same as the normal one does above.

Dynamic Forms on Standard objects will be a blast, I'm sure!

You're welcome - wish we could have found a solution, but it does seem to be a waiting game for now :)
