Determining how long it takes a lead to go from open to contacted

Hi there...I need to create a report that determines how long it takes for a Lead to go from Open to Attempting Contact, say.

For that you'd need to create a custom DateTime field to record when the Lead Ststus is chnaged to "Contacted"

Then create a custom Formula(Number) field like this (select "Trat blank fields as blanks")
BLANKVALUE( Contacted_DateTime__c, NOW() ) - CreatedDate
Then create a Process or Workflow that is triggered when the Lead Status is changed to "Contacted" and update the custom DateTime field with the Formula
NOW()

Hi there,

a standard report type is lead history. If you chose that, you can see how long it was in a stage for.

Thanks Jonathan.  That works, yes, but I only recently enabled Lead History :(  Is there a workaround?

Thanks.

Sorry, I don’t think so as it hasn’t been tracked. Also know that the history is only tracked for 18 months so you will start loosing the history that was recorded 18mnths and 1 day ago for example.

Thanks Jonathan.  So in that case, would I have to create a formula field that would calculate the Lead Status ages ?

Can anyone assist with that?

Thanks.

Hi Georgia,

Try something like this.
IF(ISPICKVAL(Status,
"Open"), ROUND(NOW()-CreatedDate, 0), null)
