How can I find what object an ID is from?

Hi all,

I have been given an ID in an error and I have no clue what object it's from.

This is the ID.

Does anyone recognise that KeyPrefix? I haven't been able to find it anywhere online or in the org. Is there any way to find it? I have put it in the URL and it just returns that the record doesn't exist...I just need to know which object it's from.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

I would usggest reviewing the following help article to identify the prefix https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=000340200&language=en_US&type=1&mode=1

Go to  Setup  >  Customization  >  Modules and Fields .

Select the module for which you want to delete the validation rules.

In the [Module] page, click the  Validation Rules  tab.

Point to the rule you wish to delete and click the  Trash  icon and confirm the action.

The easiest is from exec anonymous

System.debug('object is '+ id.getsobjecttype());

I think you want to extract a 15 digit record id from the database.
In salesforce, When we query for record id it always returns 18 digit ID. there is no way to get 15 digit record ID as far as I know. But we can use some function further to convert 18 digit ID into 15 digit id.
