Dependent Picklist of Campaign Member Status' based on Campaign Type

Hi everyone.

I'm working on a requirement right now that has me puzzled.  Wondering if there is a good way to do this....

I have Campaign Types (Trade Show, Website Resource, Webinar, etc...) and member status' (Invited, Visted, Attended, etc...) and want to only display member status options for specific campaign types.

Trade Show
  • Invited
  • Registered
  • Attended
  • Visited Booth
Website Resource
  • Visited
  • Converted
Webinar
  • Registered
  • Attended
Is there a smart way to do this?  Thanks!

Hi Michael,

Unfortunately, you can't built field dependencies for two fields that do not reside on the same object. Another problem that you'll encounter is modifying the "Member Status Values" since it can only be modified from the record level using a button labeled "Advanced Setup" and that only works for a specific campaign. You can try using record types in the campaign member object but I suggest reading this article first:

Else, you can explore your options with custom coding or components.

Jayson

Thank you Jason.  Could I do this by creating different Campaign Record Types then defining the Campaign Member Status' by the record type?  Would love your input before I go down that path.
