I'm curious if you think this workaround above would work? I attempted it, but it looks like there isn't a way in the automation actions to copy a value from one field to another. Do you know if that's possible? Appreciate any ideas you might have! Thanks - I appreciate your responses. I find it so interesting that there isn't a way to preserve a field value. Surely others out there would like to track a leads' original source. Yes that’s correct, unless you choose to not import that field when you import the list into Pardot. Ok, that makes sense. However, if a list is imported to Pardot with sources, it would still overwrite the data in that field, correct? You could amend the sync settings of the field to only use Pardot’s value, that way it wouldn’t be amended by anything in Salesforce. Then as long as no forms or automations are set to change the field value you shouldn’t have an issue. It'd be an issue in either case - if Salesforce or Pardot updated the lead source field. So if that field can be overwritten each time, the field isn't actually capturing the source of the lead - its capturing the most recent activity. Is there no way in Pardot to preserve the original lead source? Hi Heinz,
