Public Email Opt In

Through Pardot, we have created an email preference center for our existing contacts to edit their preferences, which is fantastic. However this email preference center doesn't allow for new users to sign up for email through it, which is fine.
We want to embed a field on the footer of our website to allow people to sign up to be on our email list - what is the best way to go about this?

Also, how are contacts that have once unsubscribed able to re-subscribe to our email list without having to contact us and our employees manually add them to the list? Would this form be able to solve that issue?

Hi Alexaya,
you could use a custom redirect (and an action)that will cover both scenarios.
Hope this helps,
Ines

Hi Alexaya, where are you with this?

Hi - we have tried creating a form for people to fill out but under the completion actions we are not able to reverse the status if someone is opted out, we can only mark them as opted out.

Hi Alexaya,
Once the prospect hast been opted out (instead of do not email) becomes bit more tricky:

You could potentially do something like this https://clever-touch.com/re-subscribe-prospects-in-pardot-with-ease to over come that.

So if I am understanding correctly, there is no clear cut way to allow a prospect to opt themselves back in via a form without manual work on our end? That is hugely dissappointing and a a poor user experience for our contacts.

You can do it in mass too

Or use do not email instead of optout, there is slight difference
