Add Chart Markers from Dataset data?

I am trying to set up a way to mark points in time on a time based chart with a comment. I've found the Chart Markers functionality, but I cannot see a way to have these markers show up on every chart without editing every chart to include them one at a time.

Has anyone ever done something like this?  I've set up a custom object in the org that hosts Analytics to hold the marker data (date and note) but can't get them on the same screen...
