How do I check if person accounts are enabled?

I'm a Salesforce administrator trying to check if person accounts are enabled in our organisation. Is there a way to do this without contacting Salesforce?

Hi Grace,

By default, Person Accounts are not enabled. You'll need to call support to have them enabled.
So when Person Accounts are enabled you'll see a new set of menu items under Setup -> App Setup -> Customize -> Accounts.

Grace, navigate to Setup -> App Setup -> Customize -> Accounts and you will see Person Accounts as a menu option if they are enabled.
If you don't see the option it means it isn't enabled.

Hi Grace,

If you have an option to select "Person Accounts" as the record type when you create a new Account, you already have Person Accounts enabled.

If not, you can follow the steps in this article:

As of the Winter 18 release there is now also a setting in the Account Settings page that indicates whether Person Accounts has been enabled in an org.
