Import email

Since the latest version of my company's email from webmail.aplus.net, whenever I import email to Salesforce, the email contains code in between the original text. I have to go into edit to clean it up which is a time waster. Has anyone experienced this and is there a way to fix it?

It sounds like you are sending or receiving emails with HTML. Ask webmail.aplus.net. if there's a way to import a text version.

This could potentially be fixed with Apex code, Francis, to clean up records as they are processed into the database. Do you have access to any developers?

If this is involving making changes to the email service, I would have to defer to webmail.aplus.net. I can send them your response. I can't imagine that I am the only one that is having a problem with this. Thank you for your insight, David.

I went into preferences and changed it from HTML to text and did a test. It works! Thank you, Eric! It's not as pretty as HTML but it will save me a lot of time from editting it...

lol. Yes, to keep HTML formatting you'd need to have an apex trigger that replaces the offending code with each new email. Something to keep in mind.
