While creating Opportunity and Case record type it asked me to create Sales and support processes respectively. I just want to know what is the use of it . Also,
1. Can we control the "Stage" picklist value using Record type in Opportunity.
2. Can we control the "Status" picklist value using Recort type in Case.

Hi Sujata,
These are related to Sales Process and Service Process. If you are using Opportunity and creating Sales Process for Opportunity it means you can manage your Sales Process stages on Opportunity based on your steps (i.e New, Scoping, negotiation etc..).
Also, same with Case record type and support process.
To Answer to your questions:
1. No, you cannot control stage picklist values using record type, you have to create Sales Process to manage stage picklist.
