We use HubSpot for marketing automation. When a new lead comes in after filling out a form on our website, it creates a record in HubSpot and the record owner is auto-assigned to our marketing director, and, subsequently, a Lead record is created in Salesforce, and the record owner is also the marketing director.

Our sales reps qualify the lead and when converting the lead, change the record owner to themselves. Within a few minutes (HubSpot/Salesforce sync is every couple of minutes), the record owner changes BACK to our marketing director as that's what it still says in HubSpot. My understanding is that Salesforce data is supposed to "trump" HubSpot data so this shouldn't be happening.

However, if the record owner is changed on the Lead record BEFORE converting, the changes seem to stick and the sync then changes the record owner in HubSpot to the sales rep.

Any ideas why this happens? I'm sending an inquiry into HubSpot, too, but thought I'd post something here, too.

    Hi Michelle,

Thanks for the prompt! I forgot to post my update. This is what our HubSpot rep told us:

"I did some more digging with some testing, and found an old issue that appears to have popped up again with the connector where the connector is pulling up older values to Salesforce. It's currently being worked on, but I believe this is the reason why the Integration User pulled in the HubSpot Company Owner despite the most recent value being the Salesforce Account Owner."

We were notified a few weeks later that this issue was resolved. Maybe the fix wasn't applied to your instance? I would reach out to your HubSpot rep to see if s/he can help.

    Hi Lori,

I strongly believe this syncing behavior can be explained by the Hubspot integration, so in case you don't receive any other response from users who experienced the same, it's best to reach out to their support team and if possible, please take a moment to share the resolution to assist others in the community with similar questions.

    Thanks!

Thanks for responding, Ed. I am communicating with our HubSpot rep about this and will post a response once we figure out what's going on. I'm all about sharing knowledge, especially if it helps prevent headaches down the road for someone else!
