Require reason for approval prior to submitting quote for approval

We have a number of approval rules for various things: discount requested, number of services sold, etc.  We have a custom field on the quote called "Approval Rationale."  Our goal is to have users prompted to enter a rationale before a quote can submit for approval, IF approval is required.  Is there a way to hit all of our approval rules at once?  Essentially, if the quote is going through any approvals, there needs to be text in the rationale field we created?  Thanks!

    Hi Kristin Gorman ,

     

    For this, you can create custom button which will call custom vf page with input field, where you can mention commenct before going it for approval.

     

    This is apex customization, batter to post this question on Developer Community with proper use case.
