unable to add chart to custom report

Hi all,

I would like to add a chart to a cutstom monthly opportunity report.
In the custom report I have add the following fields: lead source account name billing city billing address

Currently I created one report with an added a chart to it. This is the report of the month February but when I am trying to do exactly the same for the month January the button 'add chart' is still grey and unable use it. I would like to make a report of every month to make a dasboard of it. Because of that I need the charts to visualize it all.

I have tried the different previews as well but none of them shows me an usable 'add chart' button.

What I am doing wrong?

You need to add a field into grouping section then only chart will be appear. Drag and Drop field into Drag a field here to group across report blocks

You can add chart to reports if you are using Report of Summary, Matrix or Joined Type you can not add chart of Tabular report

Hi ,

You can add charts to Summary, Matrix or Joined Type. For this, you need to specify the column to create Grouping once grouping is added only then you can add chart else you can not add charts to it .
You can post your Screenshot to it so that i can provide more help to you .

Hi Tessa,
You need to take a screenshot (Ctrl+PrtScn) and then save it as a jpg, gif, or png file.  Then log in to the Answers Community (no email replies please) and post it in the Comment using the Upload Image button in the Toolbar (don't copy&paste or reply via email).

Hi,

Does the column need to be a common field or can you group by any of the other columns available between the joined reports?

On Reports I've added "Stage" on Group Row and also disabled "Detail Rows" on the bottom of the page then on Dashboards I've doubled checked if it was Sorted By: Stage
Didn't face the greyed out chart options anymore and was able to complete the challenge :)
Hope this helps!
