Create an amendment opportunity and quote.
Add a new column to the Existing Contracts page to display the email address of the original opportunity owner. Then, create an amendment opportunity for Grand Hotels & Resorts to amend their contract to add more Softphone licenses, for a total of 24, starting next month.
Create a new field on the Contract object
Type: Formula
Field Label: Original Owner
Formula Return Type: Text
Formula: SBQQ__Opportunity__r.Owner.Email
Save the field.
Add the Original Owner field to the Active Contract Lookup field set
Note: You can add the new field anywhere in the list
Save the fieldset.
Create an amendment opportunity for the Grand Hotels & Resorts account
Opportunity Name: More softphone licenses
Stage: Proposal/Price Quote
Note: If you don’t already have the Salesforce CPQ app open in another tab or window, you can use the App Launcher to navigate back to Salesforce CPQ and find this account.
Save the opportunity.
Amend the contract
Softphone Quantity: 24
Start Date: first of next month (we won’t check for this)
Save the amendment quote.

Not sure if this is related but you could try Executing Scripts for the CPQ package.  It's personally cleanup up some similar issues we've run into.  Setup--> Installed Packages--> Configure Salesforce CPQ--> Additional Settings--> Execute Scripts.

Try and see if that resolves the issue.
