How to get Global Search to filter for NULL values in a field?

When I use the global search in SF, it returns a set of contacts. I want to use the filters on Contacts to then further refine the search to show only contacts that have a blank/null value in a certain field. Is this possible?

I am looking to filter like below, where the CM field is NULL/blank. Using NULL as I've shown below does not work.

Hi Lee,
You cannot search for fields with a blank value for system to search on something it needs a value.
the way you have written NULL, system will try to search for Contacts records where NULL is actual text under the CM field.
One way to accomplish this is by creating a formula checkbox field on Contact object
Create a Custom formula field, label the field as CMisblank, formula return type Checkbox and the formula is
ISBLANK(CM__c)
Use the insert field button to select the field API Name of CM field.
Now include this field in the Search Filter Fields and remove the Cm field.
