Hi Guys,

I am coming across a problem in our organisation as I look to prevent duplicates from entering our org. However, with our company we operate 3 seperate departments that on occassions will be working with the same lead.

My question, is there a way to keep it all sperate so it doesnt get flagged as a duplicate lead every time?

Thanks

    Hi Duncan,

Yes, you can do this, try to identify the lead source and make a separate queue based on the that. Suppose if you have three department.

    Dept1, Dept2, Dept3 and for each you have separate queue - Q1,Q2,Q3

So now set up the assignement rule get the lead separate based on the departments. for example if

    Lead:Source = Dept1 assign to Q1

    Lead:Source = Dept2 assign to Q2

    Lead:Source = Dept3 assign to Q3

In this way you can manage the duplicates, because a case is either assigned to a queue or a user not both at time. And in the above case your primary validation should be LEAD:Source which would be based on the dept.

    Try it at your end.

    Good luck!

    Sindoora, Naveen and Ashutosh,

Thank you for your (very) quick replies.

I have actually got Dupe Catcher set up already that matches email addresses when exact is added. Is there a way of showing a Dupe alert IF the duplicate email is added under the same department rather than seperate?

Also, say if these leads both go nowhere, what would you consider best practice as I would have essentially two leads with the same details that are for now a dead end leads. Should I just at the end of every month de-dupe these leads 'Dead' leads? or convert to contacts (no opp) and remove lead dupes entirely?

    Thanks
