Picklist Values greyed out

Hi 
I have an existing global picklist on my org which I use at multiple objects. I created a new picklist on a new custom object and used the same global picklist. I have added it to the record types also and it is activated. It is still greyed out. I have check field level security and field accessibility but everything seems fine. Why would the field be greyed out?

Please double check if the values are indeed assigned to the right record type. You might want to check the below article.

Have you checked the page layout?  Make sure it's not read only. I think you said you check that.  The other bid culprit is the one Akhil suggested.

If it is grayed out, check if you have any field dependencies on that object. IE: does it depend on the value of another field.

Checked all of that but everything seems fine..can't understand what is the issue..

Its either:
Read Only
Record Type doesn't have values
Dependent picklist values issue.

I just appeared to fix my issue by deleting the field from the layout and re-adding it.  It was not read only in the FLS, but it appears that somehow it may have been readonly on the layout? Very odd.

Page Layouts can have read only as well. You get there by clicking on the wrench when you hover over the field.

Nope..it just got rectified automatically..I dont know how..thats very strange..
