I have checked Eclipse proxy settings and it is configured to Native. I don't face any issue with opening test.salesforce.com from my browser using the same proxy.

This is not the first time I am installing a Force.com plug-in. I have been using Force.com IDE more than 2 years and this is the first time I came across such an issue.

I am not sure whether it has to do anything with new Force.com plugin. I also tried with version 30 but that also failed.

Any help on this will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance !

I had to update my machine recently and so in order to install the Eclipse, I used the Eclipse Juno 4.2 instead - http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-ide-java-developers/junosr2

And then after that I was able to install the Force.com Plug-in pretty easily and everything worked like charm!

Hi Deepak,
Thanks for your reply.Unfortunately it didn't work...:(
I installed Juno and installed Force.com plug-in with version '31.0.0.201406301722'. This time also I faced the same issue.
