Is there a way to do in-line editing from a report view? The Enhanced List Views don't get me the criteria I need...

for example, I need to be able to do in-line editing based on opportunities filtered by Team Member, instead of Opportunity Owner.

There is no way to do this. Sorry.
Only via list views.

Jeannie,

Unfortunately inline editing is not possible in report view.

Pleas vote this idea to get this feature in future.

What criteria do you need, and which Objects and Fields do you need to use in your criteria?

You might be able to create a simple Cross-Object Formula field and use that in your List View Filter Criteria.

Opportunity is the object. Opportunity Team Owner Role is the filter I'm looking to build the list off of.

Okay here's a hack that @Javier Gonzalez, @Brad Gross, and I have used to do something like this:

Create a custom formula field on the desired object. In this example I do it on the User object. Here's the code:
HYPERLINK("/" & Id & "/e?retURL=" & Id & "&noredirect=1", 'Edit User').

Include the field on a report and click it. It will take you to the record but in edit mode. You can re-use this formula for any object.
