Before you dive into classes I would start here:

http://www.salesforce.com/customer-resources/learning-center/#before-you-start

Once you get through all of that and are working in the platform for a little while you can start to figure out your strengths and focus areas and then you will have a better idea of what you need additional training in.

Thank you. I have been working on the site, entering data, for the past 3 weeks. Unfortunately, youtube is blocked from my company computer so I am unable to view the video's that are suggested on the site. Might be a good reason to work from home for a day!

Thanks again!

+1 for youtube. Salesforce posts tons of videos. Also, if you search for "Hands-On salesforce" you'll see a bucnh of courses that they have recorded and posted.

If you need help with a specific feature, just go to that page in the salesforce SETUP and you'll see a "HELP FOR THIS PAGE" link on the top right corner of the page. Most help pages are really good.

Alternatively, they do have classes if you or company is willing to pay. The class "Administration for new admins" would be a good class to start.

Thank you Pierre. The Administration for New Admin's class is done online. Do you know if they utilize youtube video's as a part of their training?

No. It is instructor led. I have never taken an online class with Salesforce so I'm not sure how the training is provided, but if you email certification@salesforce.com they would be able to provide you with technical details/requirements for the online training and this might give you an idea of whether or not the training site will work from your office given the restrictions.

Hi Grace,

If YouTube is blocked from your company computer, you could suggest to your company about implementing Whatfix (https://goo.gl/6ZdQrZ) in the Salesforce training. You can create interactive step-by-step walkthroughs that will guide your through Salesforce in its live environment. So, you'll essentially be learning on-the-job. A video can be easily added as part of these walkthroughs which the users can watch without leaving Salesforce.

Another benefit is the step-by-step training content that is created can be downloaded as videos, PDFs, slideshows, and articles. This will come in handy when you want to distribute the documentation.

Hope this helps!
