Dear wonderful people: Integrating email autoresponder with Salesforce

When people send a contact form on our site, three things happen:

- a lead is created in Salesforce
- an email is sent to whoever filled in the form ('Thank you for contacting us, we'll be in touch' etc.)
- several staff members are sent emails containing the information in the form

Now I'm trying to replicate this on a new site. I've got a grip on how to set up a Web-to-Lead form. But setting up an email autoresponder / forwarding function is proving tough. I can't find anything about it on Google or in the help centre that I think is relevant, but that might be because I'm something of a Salesforce newbie.
