What SPF entries do I need to add to our TXT record in DNS?

I looked through the knowledge base, and see references to adding "include salesforce.com" to our SPF DNS record, but the standard requires the hostnames or IP networks of the hosts sending email, not the top level domain.

What is the proper entry to add so that emails are properly verified?

Thanks,
Sean

You need to just include the salesforce.com domain. You can use this wizard to create the SPF record:

http://www.mtgsy.net/dns/spfwizard.php

The following example allows specific ip addresses to send emails (websites) as well as google mail and finally salesforce.com:

"v=spf1 a mx ip4:50.56.102.167 ip4:93.152.104.18 include:aspmx.googlemail.com include:salesforce.com ~all"

To add to FrancisPindar's reply, if you are using Google Apps you can set the SPF to  v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all as mentioned here http://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=178723
