How can I increase the maximum number of records I can follow in Chatter?

I received the following error message when trying to follow an object:

"You are subscribed to the maximum number of records. Unsubscribe from another record and try again."

I find it hard to beleive that there would be an absolute limit to records to follow and I'd be surprised if I really had that many!

If  there is a limit to the number of objects you can subscribe to, is that limit modifable?

If not, is there an "easy way" to quickly view a list of all the records I'm following so I can unsubscribe to a bunch of records I no longer care about all at one time just by checking them off?

Thank you,
Steve

You can follow up to 500 users or records in Chatter. But it is mentioned it will be increased to 2500 soon follow up this topic;

In order to unfollow the records, Go to your Chatter profile page:

Chatter>People>Your Name

On right column in the middle, you will see Following Show All(500) and when you click on the number a new window will pop up and you will be able to see the following records filtered by People, Case, Contact, Files and Leads etc. You may unfollow them using X button next to each record.

The menion of 2,500 was made during the Winter '12 release, but it was pulled. No mention of it in Spring '12. Hopefully we'll see something in Summer '12.

There are a couple of AppExchange apps you can take a look at that might help.

Hi All, you can increase your limit by 2,000 records by submitting a ticket to Salesforce support. Also, if you wish to follow/unfollow records in bulk or get a list of records you follow, check our app Ascendix Search https://appexchange.salesforce.com/listingDetail?listingId=a0N3A00000ExwHyUAJ
