Translate the (custom) description of record type

I'd like to know if it's possible to translate the description of a record type? The fields I'd like to translate are indicated red.

Thank you!

Correct you have to actually use the translated text and paste into the Description field. Obvious issue with this is that it does not conform to the Translation Workbench doing the translation.

Other solution is type the description first in English and then continue in the language of your choice. You will then get two lines showing on the Desciption and yes there is a character limit to the Description field (not sure what it is).

Sorry i know these are not the greatest of solutions.

In the description of the Record Type itself you can type in the translation.

 Hi Matt,
Thanks for the reply! I'm not sure if I understand correctly because when I go into description of the record type I'm only able to submit the description and no possible translation.

I've included a screenshot to make it more clear.

Cheers,

Tnx  for the quick response. We are running a multi country system so the description also needs to be available in English.

The first option you suggest is therefore not feasible. The 2nd could work but it REALLY does not look nice.
I'd say it's quite weird that the description field is not part of the workbench, or can be renemed using Tabs and Lables.
