Embed Excel worksheet attached to a mail merged word document not working

We have a new mail merge doc and it includes an embed excel worksheet but doesn't function after being merged. When we try it from the original doc, everything works as intended. Once we request the mail merge, the excel part is just an image. Is there a way to get this working as a mail merge document?

I think you could utilise the extended mail merge feature to mergw the excel files in your mail,

You can utilise the reference from salesforce
