Is there an alternative to QuickCreate? I need to improve data entry of Contacts on Cases.

We receive a lot of cases through email from users that have no existing contact in Salesforce.  (Or there's a duplicate contact and so Salesforce does not pre-populate the case).  Currently our team uses QuickCreate, and as a result, agents end up creating Contacts not associated with Accounts.   I've tried to disable QuickCreate, but the team complains that its too time consuming to leave the Case, find the Account record, create the Contact on the Account, and then return to the Case and add the Contact.  It does seem like there has to be a better way.

Could I do this with Flow, or would it require Apex to put together some kind of single screen data entry that can be run from the Case Edit screen?

Publisher Actions (and more recently the Process Builder) have been proposed as alternatives to Quick-Create.  You've gotta nip that shit in the bud!  If you roll over and cough up the Sudetenland on this your SFDC org will be clogged with sh*tty data faster than you can say "Blitzkrieg!"

Also be sure to stop by the Idea Exchange and light a candle at this post =>>

Friends don't let friends use quick create.

Teach people the wonders of tabbed browsing.  Right click to open a new tab, create, find via lookup

If you have no other choice and you're forced to enable Quick-Create, then create Validation Rules, and Workflow Rules with Tasks and "friendly" email reminders, and "Orphaned Contact" reports and schedule them to run automatically every week to gently "nudge" the Users to clean up their sh*tty Quick-Create Contact records.

Yes! This is what I've been trying to explain that Quick-Create is evil, but perhaps the picture will make more of an impression.

I've checked out the Publisher Action, and its *almost* just what I need.  My concern is that it separates the "search first" process from the "create if necessary" process...in which case its easy to skip to the "Create.."  I suppose that if a DupeBlocker will work with the Actions, then that would work.  But it would be better to have both the Lookup search and create new on the same screen.  Is the lookup search pop up window something that can be customized with a link to the Action?

So, I ended up creating a custom button to create a Contact and pulling information from the email/webform.  Quick-Create will be gone in a week!
